New power center for democracy research in Norway

At the end of September, the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research announced that the national infrastructure KODEM (Coordinated Online Panels for Research on Democracy and Governance) will be allocated 58,595,000 million. KODEM is an infrastructure for digital research on democracy and governance, which will build and maintain panels that cover core actors in democracy — citizens, politicians, the administration and media actors. KODEM is a continuation and expansion of the work done by DIGSSCORE, and is led by Professor Elisabeth Ivarsflaten.

From the Department of Information and Media Science, Professor Hallvard Moe – PI of the ERC project PREPARE –  will join as a scientific advisor linked to the newly established Journalist Panel.

 KODEM will be responsible for a coordinated data collection that is highly relevant for research on media and democracy, says Moe.
